Welcome to Costa Rica's TravelWEB, a service of Completely Costa Rica

THE PENINSULA DE OSA reaches out into the Pacific Ocean from southwestern Costa Rica and is described by National Geographic as "the most biologically intense place on earth". Archaeologists and Ethno-Historians have yet to unravel the mysterious past of this region.

Aguila de Osa Inn is located in Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, situated on a high bluff overlooking the Aguitas river with panoramic views of Drake Bay. Reaching out into the Pacific Ocean along the southwest coast, the Osa was once described by National Geographic as one of the most biologically intense places on earth. Encompassing Corcovado National Park and Caño Island, two of Costa Rica's most prized protected areas, the Osa Peninsula is a priceless natural treasure with an abundance of tropical plants, mammals, insects and over 350 species of birds.

No other region of Costa Rica offers the visitor a more pristine, virgin environment to discover. The Aguila de Osa Inn offers visitors to the region a comfortable and private refuge from which to explore the magic and beauty of mother nature in all her glory and complexity.

We welcome you to Aguila de Osa Inn and look forward to providing you with a long lasting, memorable vacation experience.

FOOD AND LODGING

Your dining experience will be set in a tropical atmosphere with ocean views. Our newly remodeled open-air restaurant, with seating for 36, serves as the ideal setting. Custom hand made furniture, using a variety of differnet local hard woods, have been crafted to ensure comfortable seating in an elegant surrounding.

Our distinctive, gourmet cuisine is created with a uniquely tropical flair; fresh seafood from our boats, pasta, sushi, vegetables and luscious tropical fruits, prepared with simplicity and originality. Guests will appreciate our attention to detail and commitment to friendly service.

Aguila de Osa Inn comes complete with 2 suites and 11 deluxe rooms, all of which are nestled neatly into the surrounding hillside. Hardly visible from a distance, our rooms are separated into three distinct clusters, each offering spectacular views of the lush, tropical jungle that surrounds the hotel. Resting high above the water's edge, the rooms are open and spacious; with mesh windows to ensure a tropical breeze to pass through your room.

All rooms feature large Italian tiled bathrooms, cathedral style ceilings, hot water, ceiling fans, 24 hour electricity, hand crafted decor, in addition to drinkable well water that is UV treated with a micro-filtered system.

A well maintained cement trail connects the rooms with the hotel's restaurant/office area, which during the evening hours is well lit to ensure safe passage to and from your room.

GETTING TO AGUILA DE OSA

Part of the charm of Aguila de Osa is that it can only be reached by boat or sea plane. The most common way of arriving is by taking a 45 minute scheduled Travelair flight from San José to Palmar Sur, a short taxi ride to Sierpe and by boat to the Inn.

This final leg of your journey consists of a 25 mile boat ride, 21 miles along Rio Sierpe, viewing the mangrove forest, and an additional 4 miles on the beautiful Pacific.

During the boat ride you will discover the Sierpe-Terraba Mangrove Reserve, the largest in Costa Rica, with 54,000 acres. Often you will see White Faced Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, Caymens, and a large variety of birds and other wildlife.
