Hotel Sugar Beach is on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the Guanacaste Province, a Northwestern region of Costa Rica. The beach, Playa Pan de Azúcar, remains secluded and pristine. We are lucky and proud to be located right on one of the most beautiful beaches in Central America! The Guanacaste coast is the driest in Costa Rica, with daily sunshine guaranteed mid-December through mid-April. Water sports are available year round. Popular activities at or near the hotel include scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, sport fishing, boogie boarding and surfing. Accommodations
The Sugar Beach Property is 24 acres located on the secluded beach of "Playa Pan de Azucar" (Sugar Bread Beach). Nature is in evidence all around at Sugar Beach, the sounds of birds, monkeys, and the sea create a sense of awareness and relaxation.

Our hotel rooms are among the largest and nicest in Costa Rica offering privacy, large decks, double beds, A/C, garden landscaping and views of the ocean. Mostly room have color TV, Mini-bar and telephone. Other hotel features include a bar and reception area. Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, charter fishing, sailboarding, horse-back riding, bird watching or relaxing on the warm sand.

Our large open air restaurant symbolizes the atmosphere of our resort with its view across the bay to the Catalina Islands, the gentle sound of rolling waves, the aroma of gourmet dining with linen table clothes and candles adorning the tables. You provide the expectations, and we'll provide the setting for your exciting and memorable vacation.

Room Descriptions

Standard Rooms: Twelve rooms all of them with garden view. Their features include a comfortable set up, a large patio, surrounded by green landscaping. Two double beds, hot water, TV, air conditioning, safety deposit box and ceiling fans. These rooms have been constructed in 6 duplexes that are positioned on the property to give maximum privacy and some view to the ocean. One standard room available with king size bed.

Standard Ocean Front rooms: Four rooms with the best ocean front views. Their features include a comfortable set up, a large patio, surrounded by green landscaping. Two double beds, hot water, TV, air conditioning, safety deposit box and ceiling fans. These rooms have been constructed in 2 duplexes that are positioned on the property to give maximum privacy and one of the best views to the ocean.

Deluxe Rooms: Six rooms with swimming pool front and partial beach/sea view.Their features include a comfortable set up, including one king size bed, a large terrace surrounded by green landscaping, solar heated water, air conditioning, ceiling fans, TV, safety deposit box and a small refrigerator. These rooms have been constructed in 3 duplexes.

Honeymoon suite: One of the best sea views of the hotel. Just lovely! It has one king size bed, hot water, TV, a/c, a large bathroom, small refrigerator and balcony with a hammock and an incredible view of the ocean.

Master Suites: Three suites with swimming pool front and partial beach/sea view. Their features include a comfortable set up, including one bedroom with a king size bed, living room, a large balcony, surrounded by green landscaping, solar heated water, air conditioning, ceiling fans, TV, safety deposit box and a small refrigerator. These rooms have been constructed on top of the Deluxe rooms.

Coati Suite: One suite with one bedroom, a king size bed, hot water, TV, a/c, safety deposit box, wet bar, living room with a sofa-bed, surrounded by vegetation and partial ocean view.

Beach House: Two bedrooms with 2 double beds each, one bedroom with a king size bed, 2 bathrooms, hot water, TV , a/c, kitchen (equipped with tableware) and living room. The house can be rented with 2 or 3 bedrooms.

The Grand Villa: Our beach front Grand Villa is tucked away on the southern edge of Playa Pan de Azúcar. From this tranquil spot, guests enjoy the added privacy with full access to the hotel’s facilities. This two-story Spanish colonial home has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, TV, a large dinning/living room, full kitchen, second story deck and saltillo tile porch with wet bar, BBQ, tables, chairs and lounges. All with breathtaking ocean views!

All rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, hot water, satellite television,
telephones, hair dryers, safety deposit box and refrigerators.
The resort has a gift shop and all rates include a continental breakfast.
