The Hotel
Our luxury three-story mansion is nestled high in the Pico Blanco range of San Antonio, Escazú. Enjoy the landscaped tropical gardens and commanding panoramic view of San Jose's Central Valley. We are located 25 minutes from Juan Santa María International Airport and only 15 minutes from downtown San José. Tara provides a retreat from the busy streets of San José, yet affords easy access to its numerous cultural attractions. Rooms & Descriptions

1. Presidential Suite (Superior Suite) The largest of our suites with library, fireplace, queen canopy bed, 18th century decor and a breathtaking view of the Central Valley.
2. Scarlett Suite (Jr. Suite) Hand-carved doors open into a room full of charm.  Hardwood floors, king-size bed, and a private library collection.  French doors lead onto the balcony.
3. Rhett Butler Suite (Jr. Suite) Expansive room with one of each twin and queen-size beds.  Desk and office nook, ideal for business travelers.
4. Melanie Suite (Standard Room) Queen-size bed and affords a small sitting area and secretary desk.  Balcony opens to view the swimming pool and the mountains of Escazu.
5. Miss Pittypat (Single Room) Queen-size bed, cozy room with high vaulted ceilings.  Extra-large bathroom and closet.
6. Savannah Suite (Jr. Suite) Comfortable sitting room and two private balconies. One views the tropical gardens, the other the mountains. Main bedroom has a queen-size bed, the adjoining bedroom nook has a twin bed. Spacious bathroom and double vanity.
7. Robert Lee Retreat (Standard Room) Cozy and comfortable with queen-size bed. Private balcony with views of the pool and the Central Valley.
8. Sir William Suite (Jr. Suite) This suite with living room offers a European flair.The bedroom provides a dark, windowless sleeping area.  Guests are greeted by majestic sunrises over the valley from their private balcony.
9. Charlotte Suite (Superior Suite) Comfort all the way.  Open sitting room, private library, and king-size bed.   Large bathroom, tub, shower and double vanity.
10. Twelve Oaks Suite (Superior Suite) Larger 2 room suite.  Two queen-size beds and 2 private balconies.  Sitting room with library and fireplace.
11. Charleston Suite (Standard Room) Large room with king-size bed. Private balcony with view of the countryside. Adjoins room #12 w/ a shared door. Perfect for families.
12. Sir Richard Suite (Standard Room) Two queen-size beds, large bathroom with double sinks, bathtub and shower.  Private balcony viewing Pico Blanco mountains.  Ceiling displays original artwork of a rainforest.
14. Poolside Bungalow Perfect for weekend getaways and honeymoons.  Pamper yourself in the seclusion of this suite with poolside location. Panoramic view of San Jose's Central Valley is at your feet. Spacious living room, bar, open fireplace.  Sunken tub and double vanity featured in a spacious bathroom.
15. Penthouse Suite Encompasses the entire top floor of the main house.  Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing stay.  360 degree view of the Central Valley and mountains.  Cozy living room joins the king-size bedroom.  A gas fireplace, hardwood floors, bar, desk, TV, CD player, wardrobe and dresser.  Lovely bathroom with Jacuzzi and vanity.

We offer the finest European continental cuisine exquisitely prepared with the finest local ingredients. This truly unforgettable culinary experience is sure to please even the most discriminating of palates. You are welcome to enjoy a drink on our terrace or at Rhett´s Boca Bar. The Spa

Discover Scarlett´s Fountain of Youth, "Central America’s first luxury Rejuvenation Spa". Our mission is to promote rejuvenation of the body, mind and spirit. We offer guests the opportunity for a true "Spa experience", which combines various Spa treatments and salon services designed to complement each other and to facilitate ultimate relaxation and therapeutic benefits. The sum effect of the whole experience is much greater than the individual treatments themselves. Spa facilities include the use of saunas, steamroom, fitness equipment, swimming pool, jacuzzi, shuffle board and lounge areas. Lockers, robes and slippers are available for guest use.

The Casino
In keeping with Tara’s ambiance, Tara Casino sweeps you into a Monte Carlo setting with “Gone with the Wind” décor. The casino has a variety of games like Rummy(21), Tute(Caribbean stud), Pai-Gow & Roulette. In addition Tara Casino sports a top of the line Poker Room where Texas Hold’em & Omaha are played nightly. Tara’s Casino also enchants the hungry gambler with the Poker Café. The Poker Café offers a casual atmosphere with an enjoyable menu that includes homemade soups, salads, hot sandwiches, hors d'oeuvres, desserts and an American breakfast selection. After a filling meal one can play chess, backgammon or checkers on our specially designed tables.

Hotel Rates
Ascending an impressive wooden staircase framed by vaulted ceilings and pastel walls, guests are greeted by individually tailored, luxury suites. Each suite is decorated in a style suitably reminiscent of a southern mansion and fully equipped with telephone, Color TV and private baths. Majestic sunrises shared from private balconies provide a perfect background for recreating the romantic era of the south. Our friendly staff wants you to be a pampered guest and enjoy our fine facilities to their utmost.
